Who we are
Strong Tower Coffee Collective is a faith-inspired social enterprise in development, rooted in the belief that God uses ordinary spaces—like a cup of coffee—to create connection, restoration, and opportunity.
Our goal is to use coffee as a tool for building community, fostering meaningful work, and supporting economic empowerment. As Strong Tower grows, we envision mobile coffee experiences, community events, and partnerships that reflect excellence, hospitality, and service while operating as a sustainable, purpose-driven business.
Strong Tower is especially committed to creating pathways for individuals seeking purpose-filled work, including those navigating career transitions, encore careers, or reentry into the workforce. Guided by faith, we aim to create spaces where dignity is restored, stories are honored, and skills are cultivated.
Strong Tower Coffee Collective is being built at the intersection of faith, coffee, and community, grounded in the conviction that business can be a ministry, impact can be intentional, and purpose can be poured into every cup.
Through the Charlotte Coffeehouse Collective, we have led coffee-centered initiatives that include roastery tours, tastings, espresso and pour-over education, podcasts, and facilitated conversations at coffee cart events. These efforts have been grounded in community engagement, education, and relationship-building within the local coffee industry.
These experiences support a clearly defined, prayerfully considered goal: the development of a social-impact coffee venture that delivers high-quality coffee while creating meaningful encore-career opportunities for older adults and retirees.
At this stage, the formal training program is still under development. The initial phase will focus on launching the Strong Tower Coffee Bike as an operational learning platform, allowing the Collective to evaluate service models, strengthen partnerships with local coffee professionals, and gather insights necessary to design a thoughtful and effective training pathway for older job seekers.
When fully realized, Strong Tower Coffee Collective is envisioned as a business where excellence in coffee service and a faith-led purpose intersect, offering both high-quality products and dignified employment opportunities for individuals who are often overlooked.
Founder Sabra Robinson is a widow and community-builder who has spent years creating spaces for support and connection. Before Strong Tower, she served widows through her former nonprofit, Black Women Widows Empowered, which grew into a national online support community. Her work included a COVID-era podcast featured by The New York Times and recognition from the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office (her hometown). Much of it was self-funded, strengthening her belief that meaningful impact can start small, grow steadily, and remain rooted in faith.
